Composite Frame Composite frames are window or door frames that use different materials with different properties to form a thermally insulated product that is resistant to warping, cracking, thermal stress, fading, air infiltration, rot, and moisture.
Condensation Condensation occurs when warm moist air meets a cold surface. Badly insulated windows become cold and condensation can build up on the inner surface. The moisture that runs down the window can cause long-term problems such as mold and rot. Condensation can also accumulate on cold, external walls.
Conduction Conduction is one of the ways in which heat energy travels. Using conduction, heat travels through solids in direct contact, such as metal. This explains why metal handles on pots and pans get hot.
Convection Convection is the manner in which heat energy travels through gas or air. Hot air rises and is replaced by cold air at the bottom that enters through gaps in windows and doors. Convection causes drafts in badly insulated buildings.
